Reg. 157\/25<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. These changes are designed to improve emergency preparedness and increase survival rates during sudden cardiac arrest \u2014 a real risk on high-hazard job sites.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Below is a simplified breakdown to help construction companies and site supervisors get compliant.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>When Your Site Must Have an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstaidcanada.com\/fr\/product-category\/aed\/\">AED<\/a><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You must install and maintain an AED if:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n\t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your site has <\/span><b>20 or more regularly employed workers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>et<\/b><b><br \/>\n<br \/>\n<\/b><\/li>\n\t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project will last <\/span><b>three months or longer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Short-term or smaller sites may not require one, but having an AED is still strongly recommended.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstaidcanada.com\/fr\/product-category\/aed\/\">AED<\/a> Requirements: What the Law Specifies<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To comply with Ontario\u2019s new regulations:<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Choose a Health Canada\u2013licensed AED<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only AEDs approved as medical devices by Health Canada meet the new standard.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Stock the Required Accessories<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each AED kit must include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n\t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 CPR mask<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n\t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 pair of scissors<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n\t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 pairs of medical-grade gloves<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n\t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 razor<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n\t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 garbage bag<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n\t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4 absorbent towels<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These must be maintained and replaced as needed.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Store and Protect the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstaidcanada.com\/fr\/product-category\/aed\/\">AED<\/a> Properly<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n\t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keep the AED and accessories <\/span><b>together in a labeled kit<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n\t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Protect it from <\/span><b>moisture, dust, extreme temperatures, and site contaminants<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n\t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add extra protection if stored outdoors.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n\t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Install <\/span><b>clear signage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> showing AED location, including the heart-and-lightning-bolt symbol and the required text (\u201cAED\u201d \/ \u201cAutomated External Defibrillator\u201d).<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Inspection, Testing &amp;
