Drink Plenty of Water

It doesn’t matter where you are working; out in a field, in an office or in an ice arena, water is needed! Health authorities recommend eight 8-ounce glasses, which equals about 2 liters. An easy way to remember this is the “8×8 rule.” A great way to stay reminded to drink water is by keeping a reusuable water bottle on your desk and refilling it throughout the day or by setting little reminders on your cellphone to stay hydrated.

Limit Caffeine

How many cups of coffee do you consume on the average work day? Limiting your consumption of caffeine can aid in stress and anxiety reduction which will help you have a calm, clear day at the office (wherever that may be). If you find yourself reaching for another coffee throughout the day this could be a sign you are not getting enough sleep, or a restful enough sleep and it would be best to evaluate that situation in your life.

Take Breaks

Are you a little bit of a work-a-holic? It’s time to implement breaks into your schedule. By taking a 10-15 minute you can actually kickstart a new burst of productivity. Don’t strain yourself at your computer for hours or find yourself in go, go, go-mode for too long. Freshen up your mind and your senses by setting a little reminder on your phone to stop and take a rest.

Take Time to Stretch

Stretching or even doing a couple of yoga poses during the work day will do wonders for your health. Good posture is something a lot of people struggle with when it comes to spending lengthly periods of time at work.

Take Advantage of Your Lunch Break

Always try to get out and moving during your lunch break. Whether this means eating then walking or eating while walking be sure to treat yourself to some fresh air.
